Kona Blue

Kona Blue

The Kona Blue program was a proposed initiative by the U.S. government to reverse engineer any recovered extraterrestrial technology. The program was never officially established as a special access program and was eventually rejected by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for lacking merit. According to declassified documents from the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), no extraterrestrial craft or bodies were ever collected, and the material was only assumed to exist by Kona Blue advocates and its anticipated contract performers.

The program was initially proposed in the 2010s as a continuation of the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Application (AAWSA) program, which was established in 2009 and funded through a special appropriation by an unnamed private sector organization. After AAWSA was canceled, supporters of the program proposed that DHS create and fund a new version, which they called Kona Blue. The proposed effort would have restarted UAP investigations, paranormal research, and reverse-engineering any recovered off-world spacecraft.

However, AARO concluded that recent allegations of such a program come from a small group of individuals who have ties to the canceled DIA program and the unnamed private sector organization’s paranormal research efforts. The report states that there is no evidence that the U.S. and private companies have been reverse-engineering extraterrestrial technology.
